I know Stumpy too from running at the Tidal Basin! (I didn't know its name but the moniker fits.)

Lovely to see this lil weirdo in bloom.

Keep them coming, I can't be bother to deal with the crowds and traffic to see the cherry blossom in DC.

Not only is Stumpy a symbol of resilience in an era of climate change, when it finally perishes it will be a symbol of how resilience can only carry one so far.

Either way, the longer it endures and the greater its fame spreads, the more good it does. Keep on keeping on, Stumpy.

Stumpy! I thought of him as gramps. One of the oldest cherry trees there.

So cool. My parents took down one of our Yoshinos before she could fulfill her true stumpy potential, but luckily there a few truly wizened hold outs in the neighborhood. I admire them.

I saw a different stumpy. I’ll have to remember to take a picture when I drive by tomorrow.
