Incoming Friday Sh*tpost: Guess who got his tax return from the DC OTR in a record 7 days?!

I'm sorry yall, but I've lived in the DMV all my life, with the past 6 years being in DC. I have never in those 6 years gotten my tax refund back without weeks and weeks of supplementary paperwork, follow-ups, identity verification and long wait times.

Imagine my shock and good fortune to wake up this morning and see an extra $300 bucks in my account from DC Office of Tax & Revenue, when I only filed last Friday!!!! Am I the luckiest man alive or what? Anyone else ever got their refund this quickly?

Ugh mine is at 6ish weeks now and I’m starting to get annoyed by the “it can take up to 8 weeks” status … debating whether I should call or just wait to do that until after 8 weeks

They've always transferred my refund within 10 days of filing, including during pandemic.

I had to file as a non resident this time through paper and got it in less than a week faster than VAs electronic refund lol

I filed this past Tuesday and at a curiosity looked at my OTR account, and the refund had already been approved and I had a credit posted on my account...assuming I will see the refund next week.

I've never seen them so fast...

First time filing in DC (filed February 17 and got my check this Monday). Having filed in VA, MD, and NY where I could get them with my federal returns direct deposited within a week of filing, was pretty disappointed and a bit worried at first
