Insurance is different for everyone. It's dependent on your location, driving record, claims history, car type and age. I'd recommend an insurance broker as they have access to many companies they can quote and get you the best price.

GEICO has been jacking up their rates in the area, so many folks have been moving away from them. Progressive and Erie seem to be popular choices.

They’re all expensive now. I picked Liberty Mutual because they gave me the best price, but they jacked up my rate $120 this year. Even so, they’re still giving me a better price than others.

If you don't have access to USAA, try Amica. I previously used Traveler's as well, but have been with USAA for a decade.

Used to have Geico and switched to Progressive after Geico upped my rates by like $200 with no change (no new accidents, etc.), but I saved by using one of their tracker devices.

State Farm was by far the cheapest for me, but YMMV depending on a lot of factors!

I literally switched this past Friday night from GEICO to Progressive. Our fees had continually climbed and Progressive was able to offer the exact same comprehensive+collision coverage + deductibles for half the price GEICO wanted to charge.

Although, I'm not sure how much this has to do with the difference in the companies versus it just being time to change given the messed up business model of the industry.

They say you should look into switching insurance companies every single year, which is simply mind-boggling to me. But, I was able to get a significantly reduced quote going through the process with GEICO as a potential "new" customer and putting coverage in my name (it had been in my wife's) — so it does seem to track.

State Farm was the cheapest for me. I did the safe driver program where you put a location/speed tracker in your car and it gives me like a $60 per month discount. In total my insurance for a big SUV is like $80 am month with collision and comprehensive at 1k deductibles, not bad.

Just bought a new car and Progressive was the best option (price and coverage) by FAR.

Progressive for 10+ years has been the best bet any time I've checked. Compared against geico and liberty mutual most recently though it's been a few years. Check with an eerie insurance agent I hear they are competitive.

My policy is due for renewal this month and this sub inspired me to shop around. Went from $814 renewal quote for six months w/Geico to $335 w/ Progressive. Just printed my new cards. Thanks!!

I pay ~$1200/year with Erie (so about $100/month). I’m driving a 2018 SUV, have zero accidents or anything on my driving record. I haven’t shopped around for any other prices lately, mostly because they haven’t raised rates on me and I’ve had no complaints.

Erie. Pay $85/month ($1,020/year) for a 10+ year old Honda Accord in NW.

My general rule of thumb for insurance is: if I see their commercials, their rates include advertising and are too high for my taste.
