I’m interested in joining a fancy gym and I’ve heard pros and cons regarding both Vida and Equinox. I’d love insight if anyone has some! Also I’m not opposed to other gym suggestions too. ☺️ I live in the district.
This is simple and great advice. Even an extra 5-10 minute commute is enough to "nope" out of so many workouts

Exactly this. Both are chock full of features that are worthless if you don't go. I only have firsthand experience with Vida from pre-pandemic, and they (multiple locations) were great. But I've used Equinox in other cities and a very similar upscale gym vibe.
Are you gay and want to be around other gays? Vida. Otherwise equinox

In my experience (u st vida a year ago - I live in md now) yes.

I'm a straight guy who goes to VIDA on U st. There's definitely a large number of gay men at VIDA. Small portion of straight men. Pretty sizeable portion of women as well though.
If VIDA is more convenient for you, go with it.
I have no visual impairments and I find the lighting at the U St vida to be really difficult as well.
Vida is way cheaper without much difference in quality - I pay $119 a month for Vida, last time I checked Equinox was upwards of 250
