Just a double homicide on 14th outside busboys and poets. It's a Wednesday night....
Living in DC just creates for me this heightened sense of anxiety. Every single day there is news of a carjacking at gunpoint, random passerby's being mugged etc. Anymore you hand over your stuff and they just shoot you anyways.
Throw into the mix the cadres of unhoused, mentally unstable, feces and urine soaked fentanyl addicts and daily life is just an assault on the senses. I can't walk to work without feeling unsafe. I can't leave my unit without feeling unsafe. I don't go outside at night.
From our elected leaders? Nothing. Do they not see the daily degradation in conditions or do they just not care?
It. Keeps. Getting. Worse.
