There used to be a good place called Buredo near Franklin Square, but Google is telling me that they're closed now.

I think that trend faded relatively quickly because sushi burritos are just not good. The ratio of rice to fish to seaweed was just off.

Dang, I owe meeting my wife to that storefront! A random weekday afternoon, I was itching to try the new place/idea. I took the metro over and grabbed my order, and just as the rain lightened up, I walked outside to go back to the metro. She saw me outside, she was on a bus on her way to Nats Park. She found me on Facebook through mutual friends and the rest was history.

Love me some buredo. But also how did she know how to find you? How’d she know you had mutual friends? Did you have a conversation and was it the first time you ever met? I’m heavily invested in this mystery.

168 Asian Burrito

It is a bit of a drive - in Olney, MD but worth the drive imo. It is this hole-in-the-wall at a gas station and the owner is super sweet! The portions are huge too!

We were both here on summer internships from the same university and I was wearing a tshirt from the university. We had a mutual class but never talked before meeting in DC. She saw me, recognized the t-shirt and had some idea that she had crossed paths with me in the past. She searched on FB for a person that was also in the class and checked the “mutual friends” area and I was the first person listed.

So picture this- I’m ending my intern day, getting a sushi burrito for dinner and enjoying life. I get home, have a drink and eat, then log into FB to see I have a message and friend request from someone. We messaged for a bit and agreed to meet up at a debate watch party. We hit it off and a few years later we’re happily married and back in DC together.

I know I’m late to this, but Sushinado & Teriyaki in PG Plaza is phenomenal and not too far off the metro line.
