Came here to say this. Cars are a blight on our urban landscape & major pedestrian shopping thoroughfares would benefit so much without them

As one of the 4 bridges into VA, it would take a lot more than wishful thinking to change this.

They literally built the whitehurst freeway for that. M street doesn’t exist to connect downtown to VA.
