Affordable bar room to host bday

Hello everyone. My birthday is several weeks away and I was hoping to get a head start on planning. Since it’s in the dead of winter, I was thinking of having it indoors in a closed off room in a bar. A friend of mine hosted his bday in the cactus room at Mission. I’d like to find something like that, but affordable (and not Mission). Do you know of any bars that have private rooms for small gatherings? I have a guest list of 30 people. We might go out dancing after around downtown, so I’d appreciate something central. Thanks in advance!

If you're looking for a dive bar vibe, you can rent out the Ivy & Coney back bar. Unlike other rentable bar spaces, they actually post the price range right there on the website. It's also in Shaw, so while it isn't near any dancing venues, it's not that far either (decent walk or short uber).

I can't imagine renting out a bar would be cheaper than Ivy, but I've honestly never tried.

I did a party at The Wells for 30 people and it was perfect, plenty of great food and cocktails and everyone had a blast. Final bill including tax and gratuity came in just above $4k.
