When I moved out here it took forever to find a decent place to get my haircut.I found a spot I have been going to now for two years straight. I paid 48$ + 10$ tip over at Scissors & Scotch. Which I thought was already a lot. Just went to book an appointment and saw they raised their prices to 58$ for the haircut plus what would then be 12$ tip. I can't see myself paying 70$ for a haircut.
Does anyone have any recommendations for places that are not so crazy. 58$ was fine, it just meant I got a haircut every 3 weeks instead of two.
For those who might say it's 10$ difference, that is true but that adds up with all the other expenses of DC and US in general going up. Parking, rent, groceries, health insurance, child care, and so forth.
Edit for the "stop crying, it's just inflation crowd". I know math is hard, but 20% price increase in one year for a chain haircut place goes beyond inflation. 70$ for a fade touch-up is insane.
