What worked for me:

  • Find a few more punk "official" venues that you enjoy. You'll probably need to travel a bit away from Foggy Bottom for this. Quarry House in Silver Spring, "The Pocket" at 7 Drum City, Comet Ping Pong on Wisconsin Conn Ave, or Pie Shop on H Street are all good options.

  • Find local bands playing there that you enjoy listening to. Follow their social media.

  • See when those bands are playing more underground "unofficial" venues.

Good luck! The punks here can be a little reserved about putting all the details up online, but they tend to be pretty trusting of people they've met in person.

You just missed this https://www.instagram.com/dc_punkrockflea/?hl=en

St. Steven's is an iconic location for the underground DC punk/Hardcore scene and has been for decades. There are still shows there because I hear them but have now idea how you'd find out about them these days. Maybe through that Instagram link you can dig something up
