Since I moved into my apartment I’ve been experiencing a strange humming noise in the wee hours of the morning (somewhere between 4-6:30 am). The noise doesn’t last that long I think, maybe 10 to 15 minutes, but it’s waking me up. It is extremely loud, since I have tried wearing noise canceling headphones but can still hear it. I live on 13th and L and and this noise is becoming a consistent thing. It’s coming from outside somewhere but I cannot figure out where.

I have two questions, my first being does anyone else who lives in the area hear the sound? Second, does anyone have any ideas about what it could be? I was thinking it might be an anti-homeless alarm from the office building across from me but I never see anyone there. I am really at a loss here

DC sits atop a giant deposit of quartz crystal and gold - the humming is from when the UFOs are drawing energy from their deep underground base next to Langley. usually our giant Obelisk directs the energy towards the appropriate star cluster. just an fyi. ; )

Of course! How could I have forgotten about the crystals?! I’ll have to get some magnets and tin foil hat for protection

lol - the quartz/gold thing is true - v interesting geology (best visible on the river from fletcher’s to great falls… insane veins of quartz and u can still gold pan successfully)

the ufos… i’d ask the pentagon.

havent noticed the humming but it’s likely electrical. or some intense group meditation ohmmmmmm shanti shit.

Street sweepers i believe. I live on U St and have been awoken many times by the same noise. Literally one of the worst frequencies because it is so pervasive and impossible to block out.

YES EXACTLY!! Since it is at such a weird frequency I can’t block it out. Looks like I’ll be investing in a white noise machine or some sound blocking curtains…

Lemme know if you ever find anything that works. I’m just thankful it’s not every night. It literally makes my entire room vibrate and I’m seven floors up.

Some commercial buildings have installed 'noise' machines to keep the homeless away from their properties overnight.
