I've set up autopay for pretty much everything I can set it up for, but with all the nightmares people (including myself) have had with Washington Gas, I'm hesitant to give them unfettered access to charging me...

Has anyone had issues with their autopay before? Either with the process itself, or with e.g. being charged after cancelling your account, or being automatically charged way too high an amount.

I've never had a problem in the past 12 years in two different homes. Doesn't mean I trust them or anything, just that it seems like everything has worked out fine for me.

You can also set up budget billing that way they can’t go over X amount each month and then after a certain period if you under/over pay you are able to handle it with them

Never had an issue with autopay.

That said Washington Gas sucks. Their entire payment system went down about 8 years ago for 4ish months and you couldn’t pay. Their website frequently doesn’t work and their help line is known to have long waits.
