Recently acquired an old Sony Cassette deck, but it needs a repair. Anyone know of any repair shops with good reputations, or that you’ve had good experiences with that could help me out?

Music Technology in Springfield has done good work on some of my vintage gear. But r/cassetteculture might be able to help with a DIY repair.

Rock n repair inside Byrdland records at Uunion Market handles all their turntable repairs and musical instrument stuff as well.

Not personally, but someone I know recommended him some years ago. Also, the Google reviews are positive.

I found an old radio cabinet in a DC alley and am working on getting it working. It needs new capacitors installed. Just acquired a soldering iron that will actually allow me to do this. Looking forward to the Sunday night WAMU old radio show broadcasts.

Another option if you need it is Pro-Tech. They work mainly on audio and music electronics - helped me with my vintage Korg keyboard and did a good job on it.
