I've lived in other cities for the World Cup and always had a great time going to e.g. a Brazilian bar to watch a Brazil game, or a Nigerian bar/restaurant to watch a Nigeria game. The crowds are always excited and it makes for a great watching experience away from the usual sports bars.

As the DC area is so international (suburbs included), I thought there would be a good chance I could do the same here. Any suggestions for any of the countries in the cup?

The drive there is a bit of a slog, but for Germany, nothing beats Döner Bistro in Leesburg.

Any Latino bar in Wheaton is probably a good place to watch Mexico 🇲🇽 i don’t think El Salvador 🇸🇻 qualified 😞

Are we surprised lol?

Truth be told, the Salvadoran young people I know are the best soccer players I’ve ever witnessed.

But as a person from a country who has rarely qualified (Bolivia), I feel this pain.

The French Embassy has partnered with Penn Social. I assume it’s a public event, but you might want to check that.

American Outlaws will be at Astro Beer Hall.

There are events at The Midlands around the German team.

I don’t believe there is an event page. Perhaps not yet. I can confirm it’s open to the public, is family friendly (as long as children are with guardian), and will be serving Kronenboug 1664 Lager draft. 😂

Great idea, literally just came into this sub to ask about Korea games. Anybody know a good spot or any org/Korean church that might be putting on events for it?

Maybe checking in with the embassy could lead to some answers!

Well, you can forget about a Nigerian bar this world cup... Although, the Suya at Bukom Cafe is delicious and I bet they will be showing games. Curious if they will be rooting for any of the other West African teams.

Spain - Barcelona Wine Bar - do they even have TV's?

Morocco - Walima Cafe +1 703-845-3717 https://maps.app.goo.gl/Xnr7HVfnqoqHGfoU8

Canada - any place that serves poutine?

I was wondering if the Ethiopian place(s) would show games from West Africa. Could be a great time and there are 2 restaurants that would be sure to draw a crowd (Edsall Road and Columbia Pike).
