Shocking that they survived. Paradoxically, crashing directly into it probably save their lives. If they were 10 feet either direction they’re probably losing a wing or getting partially wrapped around it before falling. In either case, probably not survivable given the height

Damn I'm lucky to have power. My lights flickered during dinner but that was it

What time did it hit? My desktop computer shut off last night. But I'm very concerned because A) I have a fairly new UPS battery that should work fine and B) the power didn't go off long enough to reset the clocks. Just my desktop crashed while in the middle of a game and the monitors shut off.

It hit around 5:39pm (my power flickered) and I had another large flicker at 9:38pm which was around when they reported that Pepco had rerouted power around those lines.

My computer (on a new UPS) cut out at 5:28. Damn I'm so far from where it happened too. Guess I need to get this battery backup sent back....

Now that we have seen how interconnected our region is, is Gaithersburg now officially a part of the DMV? Genuine question

Well, it's close enough to the White House that you can't operate a drone here. I also say because Shady Grove metro is in Gaithersburg. My two cents.

I'd say the entirety of every county bordering DC is part of the DMV.

A few years ago another plane crashed into a house in the same area killing a woman and her small child. The airport is less than a mile from my house. I hope this guy loses his license it was pretty stupid decision to fly that plane in the weather we had yesterday.
