I live in neighboring Cleveland Park and I moved there in my late 20s (I'm 30 now). I really enjoy it here - there's a lot of nature and a nice community. I will say that the tradeoff is that it is quiet. Similar to Woodley, there are the staple bars but it's more catered to parks and stuff rather than city slicking.

Perhaps Cleveland Park can't be compared to WP, but if you like a quieter, more chill area close to nature it's a great fit.

if you're looking to be in the Northwest area but want something a little more exciting, I'd recommend Mount Pleasant. I've never lived there but I'd probably move there if I moved from CP.

I live in Mount Pleasant and absolutely love it, but you'll probably find better deals in Woodley. For me it would be the lack of a larger grocery store within walking distance, though the CP Target helps now and the Van Ness Giant is just 2 metro stops away.

I always took the 96 to the Giant on Wisconsin Ave. Now you could also take it to the new Wegmans.

Echoing this - just moved to CP as a 28 year old and it’s great. Chill and relatively quiet, but a short metro from some great bars. So it’s a win win in my books!

Yes! I've been in the neighborhood since 2019 and every now and then I considered moving to a busier area, feeling like I was missing out on the 'real city experience'. But I realized I can easily spend time in a busier neighborhood, but I like coming home to a quiet, peaceful space.
