I would like to rent a cello. I used to play as a kid, and I would like to pick it back up. Are there any good music stores you would recommend for renting a cello in DC or ~30 minutes driving distance outside the city? It'd be nice if it had the rent-to-own option where my rental payments could apply to the balance in case I decided to commit and buy it. Thank you!

Middle C Music in Tenleytown rents cellos and offers a rent to own program! I’m currently renting a cello from them. I’m paying roughly $66/month for my cello rental.

Some small music stores only rent violins because they claim they don't have enough space for larger instruments. But I say there's always room for cello.

Potter's Violin in Silver Spring, or Brobst in Alexandria. Both handle string instruments only, and will have upgrade paths for you, and apply rental credit towards a purchase.
