This is a long shot but I thought I’d try! My cat needs a specific prescription food that has been on backorder everywhere. Is there anyone in the area with extra wet Y/D cat food for hyperthyroidism? Specifically the canned/wet - she doesn’t tolerate the dry food well

Have you tried chewy? My cat has prescription food for urinary issues and I put it through them.

Can you call around to local vets? Many keep supply in their office for sale

Oh man. I am so sorry to hear that. It’s year 3 of the pandemic and somehow shortage like this still happens from time to time. I think your best bet is to call every independent pet store in the area and see if any of them have it. And if you have access to a car, extends it far out into MD and VA. I remembered driving around trying to find some KMR for my kittens during pandemic … not fun, but we do what we gotta do for our cats! Good luck.

The only thing I could find was the dry food version on Amazon. You're right, it seems to be sold out everywhere.

If you haven’t already, try asking in r/cats. I imagine at least one person over there knows where to find it online. Hope you find it soon!

Try the PetSmart in Falls Church, it is massive and has lots of prescription cat food. NOVA Cat Clinic also really helped me out and sold me their last boxes of prescription urinary care wet food when supply chain issues meant my shipments were being delayed in 2021.

Sorry you're going through this, it's super stressful and I totally relate because my kitty needs very specific food too.
