Walmart typically has lower prices on just about everything, particularly groceries and stuff. But I'm wondering given that it's DC how do the prices stack up compared to other grocery stores?

I imagine the difference is significant between Whole Foods, but what about supermarkets on the cheaper side like Giant or Safeway?

I find it not that different from Trader Joes prices. Maybe a bit lower on a few staples, but overall around the same price.

A family sized box of cheezitz is about $2 cheaper at the Walmart vs Safeway. Similar story with a lot of other groceries.

Walmart has terrific prices on store brand items. But other stores have routine sales that repeat every few weeks that are cheaper than wally for many things. Like $0.97 a lb pork shoulder at Teeter this weekend.

Walmart is much cheaper than Safeway, usually like 30% or more
