if you're looking to live here, spend some time in the more residential and suburban neighborhoods/towns that arent in the tourist parts of the city. check out silver spring, md, alexandria, va, arlington, va, adams morgan (dc), columbia heights (dc) are the first ones that come to mind. take metro and busses around instead of driving everywhere. talk to people about their neighborhoods and what they like and dislike. folks here are friendly (not texas friendly, but still friendly) and will answer your questions.

bring a WARM coat and layer before you go out. like tank top, shirt, sweater, coat, hat kind of layering, especially if you're going to be out and about. i'm front texas and did not know how to dress for cold weather when i moved out this way.

Thank you! Yes, the weather will definitely be different than what I'm used to. I'm already prepping my fits now lol! I will definitely be taking the metro/bus, and I do have a friend who lives here who will be showing me around and introducing me to some friends. Looking forward to the conversations!
