Has anyone else noticed that the restaurant week menus are more expensive for vegetarian items than the standard menus? $40 seemed a bit steep for some places so I added up the cost for the same vegetarian options on the standard menu and found $5 variances! As in restaurant week could cost $5 more, vegetarians be warned! I’m sticking to brunch and lunch in the future. I’d love to see a cheaper restaurant week vegetarian option in the future.

Celebration by Rupa in Ashburn and Laos in Town in Noma have a vegan option for the standard restaurant week price.

Yeah a lot of places do, but what OP is referring to is the veg menu usually ends up being more expensive that if you just bought those items à la carte.

Did you compare non-vegetarian dishes as well?

I've always gotten the impression that restaurant week is less variety, busier & more stressed staff, and more expensive all around.

You’re paying for a specialized item. That’s why it can cost a little more.
