For the AMC, the best way to find the open caption screenings is to filter for "Open caption (on screen subtitles)" using the "Premium Offerings" dropdown. Regal puts "Open Cap/Eng Sub" next to the movie's title. The Landmark theaters list the open caption screenings last below a movie's title and designate it with "OC" in a box. Alamo Drafthouse includes "open caption" in the features list Regal puts "Open Cap/Eng Sub" next to a movie's title. I feel it's a bit disingenuous to say they offer open captions but then make it so hard to find and then actually go to the movie. Like how does the only showing being at 2pm on Wednesdays actually increase accessibility? Seems like it's pretty much lip service.

That's part of the problem. Theaters think people won't go to open caption screenings so they push them into the worst time slots. It is a chicken and egg problem in that we can't get better timed until attendance improves, and attendance won't improve without better times. That's why I did this post to increase awareness of availability of open captions.

NYC recently made it so at least 25% of movies had to be open caption. Wouldn't be surprised if DC followed suit, especially with Gallaudet being here.
