I know it’s not common to hear about a baby friendly park, usually playgrounds are for ages 2 & up but anyone knows maybe what park would be ideal for babies 11 months +?

For what, exactly? Crawling on the grass where the dogs have been? Not sure what you're asking for here.

To play. To be active. To get outside. To socialize. Not all babies are just crawling at 11 months, some are walking some are learning to explore. Playgrounds and parks are different…not all playgrounds allow dogs…

I don’t think they make a <2 year old park. You just gotta go to the park and watch your little one. If it’s a nice park, use the one closest to your place.

More relevant for when it gets warmer, but the splash pads at the bigger parks are good for younger babies. I like the one at Guy Mason Rec.

Great! Westminster Park! It’s on Westminster St, between S and T. About 20 min from you. By spring you will really love it. It’s a cute little park tucked between some houses.

There is one at the charter school near Ft. Totten designed for younger kids, <2s I think, but it is always locked to the public so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ . I find it very frustrating that publicly funded schools are allowed to close off playgrounds.

Lovejoy is cute and for little kids assuming they are walking.

The petting zoo at the Zoo has a space about bumblebees and there’s a spot where it’s just low hexagonal platforms (like 8-10 inches off of the ground) and it’s good for young kids to crawl over. It’s supposed to look like honeycomb. There isn’t much for the pre-walking age.

In NW Maycomb rec center, Mitchell Park, Kalorama Rec center, and Guy Mason rec center are all good with a young kid side and an older kid side.

Guy Mason Rec Center usually has a good selection of babies to choose from.
