Not mutual defence pact. India still hasn’t made any, and wouldn’t start with Italy. This’ll just be something like more military exercises together, or maybe working together on development of military equipment.

Haven't you realized it, man India is smart dealing with all sides. Neutrality sure has its benefits alright. I believe its to do with Subs, and torpedoes.

Defence agreement = joint weapons development, military procurement, that kind of stuff.

It's not a military alliance (and it's not like a military alliance between Italy and India would make sense when they have completely different strategic interests anyway)
