The profit selling to Russia wouldn't be a tiny fraction of 1% of the money made selling to the west. To risk that is insane.

Maybe they’re calculating that the west will sanction anyway after they get more aggressive in the South China Sea.. so they sell drones to at least weaken/split up the west’s resources by bugging them down in Europe.

Actually yes.

Their economy is not an independent one at all, they heavily rely on trade, specifically trade with America and with their economy already receding this would be stupid for them to do.
