That's not what the article says. Indigenous Australians can, do, and already are representatives in government. The referendum is about establishing a specific first nations voice to parliament overall. MPs technically only represent their party and the constituents of their electorate so it is not the same thing.

Nah I don't mean you're a troll, all I'm saying is in some of the bigger or main subs you can't take for granted the tone of comments just because of the variety of people posting
