But Sweden is being blocked by Turkey too, and Turkey is taking the majority of the blame for Sweden not being in NATO yet. No one’s blocking Finland, so Hungary would be on its own.

It's been obvious for months now that the only reason Hungary is stalling is because Turkey doesn't approve yet and Orban thinks he can milk EU for releasing funds in exchange for ratification in the meantime, but the moment Turkey approves Sweden, Hungary is going to drop any demands and ratify Sweden immediately to not be 'the last one' to ratify and pretend to 'save face'

It has fuck all to do with Orban being Russian crony and everything with him being good ol slimy opportunist.

Maybe the rest of the EU need to double down on their criticism of Orban as clearly the withholding of Covid funds isn't sufficient.

Can't we just throw Hungary out of NATO (and EU while we're on it)?

It's funny in a way. Like Orban's a mini-Putin who's convinced himself he's a tactical genius, and is entirely unaware that the EU has grown tired of his bullshit and is perfectly willing to call his bluff. At least I hope so. This can't go on like this.

IOW:

Orbanary is a snowflake nation.

A fascist state under the guise of a democracy.

If the EU does not take action now, then they lose any credibility they have left.

Don't dangle carrots when you should be using a stick.

Nice deflection.

It's because Erdogan and Orban ride Putin like he's their daddy.

It has nothing to do with anything else.

They are Putin's patsies in NATO.

Simple as that.

I have no such faith in the EU.

Seems like a Chinese-designed scam at this point.

"Peace plan, peace plan, let's continue poisoning our citizens and buying Russian and Chinese neurotoxins while we get kickbacks and ritzy real estate."
