This article made me hopeful in the long term but also curious. How are lgbqt+ rights in South Africa compared to say europe, canzuk etc? Seems open enough they can protest like this?

Right but… a vast majority of this world is homophobic, that’s the unfortunate truth.

Sure, South Africa leans towards Russia. The west leans to and is closely aligned with Saudi Arabia and the GCC. They even give those fuckers bombs to kill random Yemeni children.

Individuals choosing to march in solidarity with others ≠ the actions of their government and whom they align their foreign policy with.

I doubt the South Africans protesting Uganda are the same ones running South Africa's foreign policy. Maybe time to climb of you moral high horse and stop attacking people for not liking murder?
