This would be a great zombie video game. Trapped in Chinese Disney world with a zombie virus going around. CCP soldiers will murder you if you try to leave. So you have to mcgiver disney stuff to fight off the zombies.

Imagine being trapped in Disney, and they don't even let you get off the ride.

Does Disney get to keep charging them for all the days they have to stay?

Splendid idea...on a more serious note, I start to hope that we will soon get the straw that breaks the camel's back: China's zero covid is a silly policy applied by zealots following a madman.

Taking all bets ladies, gents, and otherwise, taking all bets! I present to you the odds on how big the Covid lockdowns get! Yessiree here we go, factories, city blocks, entire amusement parks, those are the things we've already got!

But how big can it go, that's our betting question at hand! So here's the plan, I'll make a list and we'll see who's what and what's the limit, no limits here for what Winnie Xer Pooh will demand!

First we've got entire cities, so you've heard already but only partially. Well no more I say, quarantine and no on leaves they're all there to stay!

But we can go bigger yes we can, how about an entire prefecture which divides the land? All locked off and no one out, who could complain, and what would they complain about?

How about regions, of this I say, larger than prefectures, there's no doubt but hey, who's to care if no one gets out of there region today?

Finally the country I say! The entire thing, all locked down and no one to sing, of movement, trade, nor anything. Could ol Winnie Xer Pooh take this all the way?

I know the way the Chinese handle Covid is draconian, and would not work in America, but they are really focused on long term health and the economy. Almost every other country is going to deal with a work force that has a percent of workers sickened by LongCovid and repeat cases of Covid forever. Ten-fifteen years from now they will have a country of healthy workers, and we will have a big drag on our economy.

No, I mean forced covid by neighborhood. Come to this party and get coughed on, hope your vaccine worked

Edit: to be more clear, with a covid free policy there are a TON of people who are highly susceptible to covid. Additionally, the vaccines available in China are typically less effective at preventing infection and hospitalization than the mRNA vaccines largely used in the west. That means a huge proportion of their population is at risk, and lifting covid zero policies will overwhelm the country. It would be like when the pandemic just started, except the new variants are much, much more contagious.

So, on a very serious note, I don’t know how China can move past covid zero without some dystopian storyline.

Nah, Covid gives a 20% chance of getting long covid.

Post infection immunity lasts between 1 and 3 months .

Then with all the overlapping mutant variants going around the edge of vaccines, you could wreck your whole population and not get rid of Covid.

Yeah right. If they gave a shit about long term health they wouldn't have spent the most critical early months of the outbreak in 2019 suppressing all information about the virus and persecuting whistleblowers who were desperately trying to get the word out. China created this entire shitshow; saying that they care about human life now, is absolutely laughable.
