I mean, in the country where you can 'legally' buy and fund (through lobbying) politicians that literally legislate, does attempting to manipulate the court system even seem serious?

Why did you put the word legally in quotes as if it's not actually legal? It absolutely is.

> A lawyer for Hatice Cengiz, the fiancee of Jamal Khashoggi, has accused Mohammed bin Salman of engaging in an unprecedented and blatant attempt to "Manipulate" the US court system in order to "Secure impunity" after allegedly ordering the 2018 murder of the journalist.

> In a blistering 10-page legal filing, lawyer Keith Harper, who represents Cengiz and the pro-democracy group Dawn in a US civil case against the Saudi crown prince, urged Judge John Bates to reject a controversial suggestion by the Biden administration that Prince Mohammed be granted sovereign immunity in the case.

> After asking for two extensions, the Biden administration late last month complied with the request, and said in a legal filing that it did believe Prince Mohammed ought to receive immunity from the court, citing a decision by Saudi's King Salman - Prince Mohammed's father - to appoint his son prime minister.

That's not how you spell "colluded with".

Just because he colluded doesn't mean he wasn't also manipulated. Trump is one of the easiest people to manipulate. Just throw him the red carpet and he'll do whatever you want.

But it’s completely legal for individuals or corporations to buy political influence in the states.

How can they persecute him while letting elon invest 10’s of millions in the republican party, with the promise that they will give him preferential treatment if they win power?

Elon has yet to start dismembering journalists, he generally just bans them from his platform.

I agree with you but he might actually have gone too far when he started murdering and dismembering journalists.

Gone too far by killing a journalist? CIA has disappeared out of the chat

I aint saying you are wrong, but its like Russia claiming others are going too far killing civilians

No, he went too far when he helped Russia by lowering oil output to increase the price of oil.

No one cares about a dismembered journalist.. the US has already given him immunity for that one..

Saudis doesn’t respect Americans and I can’t wait until oil shit is over with so we can go tell Saudi Arabia to fuck around and find out. We should have went to war with them and blew them up after 9/11

I don’t even know why we train their army , pilots and everything. Oh that’s right oil, if it wasn’t for that the world wouldn’t deal with these damn countries that have killed millions in name religion

I'm not sure why they felt the need to add "attempt" in the headline when he was clearly successful in getting immunity.

There's no benefit in issuing a judgement against the ruler of another country - it might feel good morally, but it wouldn't materially help the US or Khashoggi's family, and wouldn't harm MbS unless we were willing to take substantial financial and potentially military action against the country of Saudi Arabia.
