There’s almost no other way to help the Afghan people at this point. NGOs were the only real go-between left as a working option after the Taliban took back over.

The question is if the aid is really worth anything given that the Taliban will simply steal anything of value and continue to make it more and more difficult to reach the folks in need with what little remains.

Yeah and the part that's really interesting is that the population doubled in the 20 years between Taliban control. They went from 20 million to 40 million and they have been experiencing droughts recently as well. It's estimated that more than 50% of Afganies are experiencing food shortages. I'm not too sure the Taliban can stave off mass famine without the help of the NGOs. The future of Afganistan really looks dim.

By... not showing up? NGOs are charities and aid organizations. No government ordered them in there, you know, hence the whole "Non-Government" part of NGO. They can choose to leave just that easily.

Their money is better served in a country where the government is trying to get its shit together and pull its people out of poverty, like any one of 15 nations in Africa.

Perhaps if America had invested in Afghanistan by entering into resource extraction partnerships, women would have had a chance. Instead, Bush, Obama, Trump, and Biden only cared about the bullshit stories they could get in the news, about how 15 Afghan women graduated college. Well, there's no colleges in Afghanistan and no jobs for college educated people.
