I'm not sure if "ignored" is the right word so much as buried. I've certainly been following the story but it hasn't been prioritized for months.

Pakistan is surrounded by Afghanistan, Iran, India and an extremely mountainous touch of China. People without resources aren't likely to be migrating to another country

This is one of those climate change stories that will go ignored by most mainstream media for a long while.
The situation will only get worse until people will be left with no choice but to mass migrate to other countries. Only then it will be mainstream news again, but the refugees will be painted as “economic migrants” as opposed to “climate migrants”
