True. I really try to understand, why the reactions are so different and how they assess the severity of such actions. Not just in politics but also when they are talking privately at home with their families for dinner.

It's about values. Most Muslim nations don't value human/individual rights, which is why they're not as upset with China rounding up the Uyghurs. Howwever, they do value religious sanctity and purity above all else, which is why burning the Quran or unflattering depicitions of Mohammed rile them the most. This runs in direct contrast to the Western-liberal value of free expression.
