I don’t see how you’re getting several hours out of a 10 minute bus ride unless your car travels backwards in time, but more power to you I suppose

Forest Hills station is at the Arboretum. It's a 10 minute bus ride on the 34 or 40 bus from Forest Hills to Washington St @ Walworth St, which is directly in front of Pleasant Cafe. That, or walking, would be my preferred method of making that trip. Maybe a Blue Bike if the stations are close.

Nobody ever had to worry about owning a car in Cambridge, not since the Red Line was built.
Besides, the bike lanes have been there as long as Atwood’s has been there. Bike lanes are not what caused this.

I don’t know how you can say that with a straight face. Cambridge median income has done nothing but go up.
Wealthier people aren’t exactly known for creating hip places. All the cool places in Central have shut down because commercial landlords have jacked up rent because Cambridge is becoming a much wealthier city.

East Cambridge is not a historically well off neighborhood.
Besides, bikes aren’t interfering with Atwood’s whatsoever. But you already know that, you’re just a crank

They can’t fix the thousands of miles of rail in this country in two weeks, even if they were motivated to try

Government owns the interstate highways, why not the interstate railroads?

Monoculture crops for production at scale are far less effective at producing oxygen or sequestering carbon dioxide than native habitats.

This wouldn’t make sense as a policy without also repealing parking minimums.

I disagree. Both maintenance and expansion are necessary for the long term planning and longevity of the MBTA. Again, this is a crucial connection and we have a critical window to do this during the MGH’s major construction over the next few years. If we miss this opportunity, it’ll be who knows how long until it’ll get done

It’s not hard to do, but it creates a lot of congestion on the orange and green lines between state and downtown crossing and government center and park street. This reduces their capacity in the downtown core, and it discourages ridership. Red-Blue is more important than it seems!

You are mistaken.
> “We’re just doing an introduction to the project tonight, looking for broad feedback on safety issues, parking and loading needs, and things like that. There’s no specific design yet,” said Elise Harmon-Freeman, communications manager for the Traffic, Parking, and Transportation Department of the City of Cambridge, on Tuesday evening.
They have been forthright with their data. They say exactly when and where they collected it. Not sure what more you want.

What? This isn’t about the cars at all. The space for bikes has already been allocated years ago, the oldest image on Google StreetView for Hampshire St is in 2007 and it has the same lanes. This is a conversation about whether that space gets protection, it’s not taking any road space from cars. Do you even know what we’re talking about here?

700+ bikers in an hour is real data.

Even if you think that that’s enough to make it show that bikes are a vast minority, it’s still enough people per hour to justify protection.

It’s ranked in ascending order based on the number of years lost per 100,000 people. #49 on that list means the 49th lowest number, or in other words, the 2nd highest number, as in 2nd most likely to die early.
