Reply to Did you know, Burlington had the highest number of homicides in decades, after defunding the police? No surprise there at all. Thank god it was reversed. So question, do you believe it was actually a good idea to defund the police? If so why? Pros and Cons. by [deleted]
I personally think this is way more nuanced than your one paragraph post implies. Also, if you're inserting your opinion in the post while asking a question ("No surprise at all. Thank God it was reversed"), you probably aren't looking for answers or a conversation, you're most likely looking for a fight.
But I'll bite. Many things factors can contribute to a rising murder rate. Less police force can absolutely do that, like you say. But also the declining condition for the average American (such as rising costs and inflation), less social support, and the police throwing a fit at defunding to name a few.
I don't necessarily want the police defunded. But I do think they still need better and long training like a degree, more sensitivity training, and less military grade equipment to use against their communities.

I'm mainly from the Chittenden area, so I've got lots from there. Do you have certain foods or vibes you like for restaurants?
I like: Waterworks, Barrio Bakery, Pizza 44, Folinos (Also pizza), Honey Road, Bistro de Margot, The Meltdown (Artisan grilled cheese in Montpelier).
I realized I could keep going, but might be information overload.
Edit: Also Pho Hong. That's very popular.

Depends where and when you're visiting.
For food and drinks: Breweries are obviously a big thing and everywhere. Many good restaurants in Burlington area, especially around Church St. The Winooski Circle is a short drive from there, which is an up and coming downtown area. Waterworks is the main restaurant there, plus it has a great atmosphere.
Live music is also fairly abundant, depending what you're into. You're in luck if jam bands. Higherground is the main venue. But shows often happen at bars like Nectars, Monkey House, or even Shelburne Museum.
Swimming in different falls and gorges or floating down rivers are great in the summer.
Montreal is a short drive away depending where you live.
Vermont has also been great about developing great small town vibes. I've enjoyed visiting the town centers of; Montpelier, Waterbury, Stowe, St. Albans (recently), Shelburne, and Vergennes.

I was never trying to talk about mountain roads. I'm only talking about VTers unwillingness to pass and how slow they drive. You're the one who brought up a person riding their brakes on a mountain road.
Are you trying to get in an argument or something? Every response you've given has been slightly off topic from my comment before and slightly confrontational. I hope you're having a good day.

I mean, your example is going down a mountain road. Obviously you want to be cautious in that scenario. That's a little different than traveling on a normal route and driving 40 in a 50 for no other reason than you forgot where the gas pedal was.

In conditions like this, you don't pass. But my problem is many VTers don't pass even in the summer and view 2-3 mph under the speed limit as the maximum they can afford until their car explodes.

I remember when I wished I could say that word. But then I grew out of my angsty teens.

But apparently not affordable rentals. I work in the area but may have to find something else because every apartment is almost Burlington priced, run down, small, and no pets.
My assumption is all the would be apartments are air bnbs instead.
