My stepson is going to be part of this settlement. He got a job there right when they started hiring people to reopen. He worked maybe 3 or 4 weeks before they shutdown earning minimum wage. Be interesting to see how much he's going to get...

Surprised no one has mentioned the Lion's Den restaurant, Awesome food.
The south end/Water St area has a lot of run down older apartments. You would probably never have a problem living in that area.
I lived in the north end Ticonic street area for 9 years. Never once had an issue other than my car was burgled once (forgot to lock my doors, damn kids).
And if you're looking for marijuana, Waterville is your town! Couple of recreational stores and you can't spit without hitting one of the 56 bazillion medical places.

Doesn't the proposal for PTP state CMP employees can continue to work at the same pay if they choose? Also if PTP does contract out some work to private companies would it be safe to assume they would be local contractors? Can't we give preferential consideration to Maine owned businesses for contracts?

Update... no longer closed! I just drove through there and there was nothing obvious in the dark why it was closed. shrug

The section is a little ways down the Augusta road between Mid State Machine (the old Sukee Arena) and the Taylor Woods Rd. It's just north of the Winslow - Vassalboro town line.

Get an ice scrapper and a snow shovel you can keep in the car. Drive SLOW on ice and snow. If you start to slide don't hit the brakes if you can help it or use the brakes very lightly if you have to. Always point the tires in the direction you want to go (people tend to over correct when they lose traction). In general Mainers are friendly, kind and helpful. Welcome to Maine and I truly hope you enjoy it here!

Probably... he's only 17 so getting $5200 will be the most money he's had at one time. He only worked about 20 hours a week but I think most everyone that was working there at the time was doing about 20 hours. All the workers were doing a month of training preparing to open.
