My grandparents left after the riots in 71. I can still hear them talk about the mansions on High Street! Having worked on and off in Newark since the 1980s it nice to see that structure refurbished. There's so many beautiful buildings hopefully more can be saved.

The petition asks for more rail warehouses and expanded rail services. Both of these topics were on here recently with people complaining about too much of both those proposals! The dichotomy of living in NJ :-)

My car has a problem with the nozzle kicking off for some unexplained reason. Most times I ask if I can finish the fueling and the attendants don't mind.

Remember being able to park under the building, walk to the gate as a non passenger with a pass issued by the ticket agent. The brown busses that clogged every roadway. The roar of the 727 and DC 9 pissing of half the State with the jet noise. Bonus points if you ever flew People's Express anywhere :-)

The 1980 Chemical Control fire in Elizabeth showed how poorly NJ handled Haz Mat. When you drive past the industrial complexes of Linden and Elizabeth or Oak Island in Newark you have to wonder when something bad could happen again.

I know for a fact from a friend who works in a salon she said the mullet is making a comeback with teenagers! Tik Tok influencers are why we can't have nice things :-)

I would crawl over glass than take that exit to Route 1 South. It just gets worse and worse. How the interchange couldn't have been expanded when they did the Northbound flyover for better southbound flow is crazy to me.

Its been on the news for months. Especially when gasoline skyrocketed and Ukraine got attacked, natural gas was going to get expensive. PSEG sent out the conservation alert Saturday because the grid was so stressed the natural gas supply was being limited. This bill could be the lowest bill we might get for the foreseeable future.

I usually justify going to Edison for the seafood. Its worth the time and effort for the selection. I get there at 8am because of how bad that parking lot is.

I'm surprised no one has said Christmas Eve death by fish dinner! Grew up with Italian neighbors and was invited for as long as I remember. 7 fishes in no order, eel,sardines, shrimp, crab cakes, fish chowder, scungilli salad,smeltz, calamari, greens, pasta. The home made wine from the year before would be finished and the new young wine tasted. They all have passed but I still do seafood just not as much. I'm married so we blend the fish dinner to only 2 or 3 dishes. I think back and can't believe how much food was made and how expensive it must have been even back then. It was like the whole neighborhood was there at any point in the night. It was magical to a young kid.

The 747 SP from Newark to Tokyo made money for United back in the 80s and 90s by selling out the freight. The passenger tickets were outrageously expensive but freight paidthe bills.

You evil person... having eaten turkey, turkey sandwich, turkey omelette, turkey soup, turkey ice cream sundae, for the last 3 days....your bringing tears to my eyes. That looks incredible. I am jealous but you inspired me to get some fish for dinner. :-)
