Reply to comment by thedukeoferla in 33rd st path trains are delayed, impossible to get on WTC because it’s so packed. Take the ferry or walk to Newport if you can. by elbowe51317
I can remember back when PATH was a dollar, PATHvision was useless, and a newspaper, magazine, or book was the primary source of entertainment.
If train service was delayed, or not running, which was more often than currently, you would usually find out only because the platform was packed, or in non peak times, because the train never came. Announcements often sounded like Charlie Brown's teacher, and people would literally shush each other when they came on, in an attempt to hear them.

Yes, just a bit northeast of Dickinson HS, probably taken from the edge of the hill.
And before someone asks, that other train in the background is not PATH. PATH goes into it's tunnel several blocks south of here at the end of 1st St.

Not sure why you're picking an argument, but I really don't understand why two cities at the opposite ends of a light rail, with buses that go through the tunnel or to PATH, and are in reach of ferries, aren't both "reliable" for transportation.

"is more rednecky."
I love when people act like Bayonne is like "The south" of Hudson County these days.
As for transportation, it's just as reliable there as in Jersey City if you're near busses and the light rail. Not as much as if you're renting next to PATH

Any reason you left Bayonne off the list? It's probably the quieter than most of the Hudson County places you put on your list. There's really no tourism/loud nightlife there. Busses/rail go right to PATH or NYC.

It's always struck me as funny that he asks the NYC cops where he can get good pizza and he ends up in Jersey City.
I'm unsure where exactly those scenes were filmed, the scene may have been assembled on the Colgate factory property, or north of Exchange Place. The colgate complex was demolished in 1985 and left a several block wide empty lot for several years just south of Exchange Place.
If you look really close in front of the building that's far right there you can see the corner of the old Exchange Place PATH entrance. When built, that building behind it was the tallest building in NJ.
Edit: The intersection shown in the taxi shot is the corner of Washington St. and Steuben St.

The pic of the cab going down the street toward the powerhouse is a frame grab from the movie "Sid and Nancy".

You can drive out to the Delaware Water Gap and find some nice spots out there on both sides of the river. There is a scenic overlook that is elevated on Route 78 if you take it out to Route 206 on the way that requires no walking and has very nice views.
