You're right he's not expecting to see six figures. I'd say around $1.50 a mile or a minimum of $5 for closer deliveries.These guys are paid $2.25-$2.50 per delivery by the company. The rest comes from tips. I was doing it for a few months to make some extra cash and I can tell you these companies need to be investigated because they wll 100% shut you down by spamming no tip orders at you for a couple of hours if you turn down too many low or no tip deliveries.

Drivers will take these orders to keep their completion rate up because it's known that even though the company isn't allowed to penalize drivers who turn down low offers, they do.
