You asked them to make a cable that their configuration clearly states they don’t do. Hence the minimum length. This comes off as trying to call out cablemod for not doing something they don’t do anyway.

I know Gazzew is phasing out the boba plastic blend and using a new proprietary blend, so I’m not sure if that might help the issue in the future but I agree with you.

I had the same problem with my batch much earlier in 2022 and got rid of them for the same reason. To be fair I had the issue with some of the unlubed switches too so not sure what’s going on. The lubing may have made it more prominent but I can’t be sure and really Boba switches are so finnicky I don’t even bother opening them anymore.

Ah I see. Yes the U4’s are the silenced version of the U4t’s. There’s also the U4tx which has a silenced topping out sound so you only hear the bottom out.

Could be the lube job. I personally don’t trust prelubed switches. A lighter coat or thinner lube probably would have done the switches some good, although glorious switches aren’t that great to begin with. If you want a heavy tactile switch the Boba U4t’s are great. For linear the Gateron Oil Kings are nice and have a pretty good factory lube job if you don’t want to bother doing it yourself.

Verge put out an equally as mind numbing piece about mechs and I think it’s great fodder for the enthusiasts and does a good job of inadvertently gatekeeping.

I don’t agree. Sure expense policies are different, but I’m more curious about how many people were able to do it, how, do they enjoy the board they were able to expense, etc.

I’d like this more without the top right key. A blocker with badge or even engraving would be nice. Having two awkward gaps because of the f13 and the exploded nav cluster kills me.
