You should be able to bend it within reason, the build quality of these adapters is subpar

AMD released a (professional, non gaming) card a few years ago with M.2 slots on it for machine learning work loads and they already have RAM on them (GDDR instead of DDR but it’s not too terribly different) so really we’re just a couple CPU cores away

To head off the “but we barely have DDR5” comments, the G is important here. This is memory intended for use by graphics cards and GDDR6 has been a think for years now. AMD tried to move the industry towards a new standard called High Bandwidth Memory with their RX Vega products but that effort never got anywhere
