if the nextflix series about Sorokin is accurate, she was able to do alot of what she did b/c of greed on the part of the bankers & various businesses she promised business to.

she convinced them that she's extremely wealthy, her money is just tied up in (insert some foreign exchange excuse) & that once it all clears, they stand to make a lot of money from doing business with her, but if they're gonna be sticklers about it now, she'll just take her business elsewhere.

she was able to skate on that for a couple years stringing along hotels, caterers, nightclubs, bank executives, etc before it all fell apart.

somebody always pipes in with this & it makes me wonder what toxic ass places some of you work

if a company is making a counter offer, it's because they value the employee & don't want to see them go.

who has the time, energy & pettiness to make a counter & pay someone more just to torment them? it makes absolutely no sense.

I've been a manager for several years. when a software engineer I value puts in notice, I go in to hyperdrive trying to get a raise, bonus, promotion, whatever approved by my CEO to retain them.

I promise it has nothing to do w/ tormenting them, it's about keeping a good team together.

it bothers you to know she's been with others.

she's jealous of a social media relations w/ a friend from the past.

she feels guilty for her past (see point #1 for possible cause)

it's like you 2 are in a competition to throw the most red flags.

neither of you sound remotely mature enough to be in a relationship.
