It’s better to build the jamb around the door before installing. That way you know it’s true and fits the door. It’s relatively simple, you can go about it with basic screws or fancy joinery depending on your skill level. I built a custom jamb last year to reuse an old door original to my home and I was surprised how well it turned out and people are amazed when I tell them I built the door jamb. For reference, I’m a slightly skilled DIYer who is happy to take on a project slightly above my skill set to learn.

This is what I did last year. We added a first floor powder room in an old house and tapped into the central hot and cold water lines. The bathroom was the priority so we could have two toilets. But I was always planning on a more extensive plumbing redo to the main lines so I used shark bites and left a little extra pex so I can dial it in the future.

Same with ours. Grease all over the cabinets despite a vent to the outside.

I agree. I regularly have to ask my colleagues and wife to not touch my screen when they are pointing to something on a non-touch screen. But with that said, some people don’t care and you can use the functionality sparingly without dirtying up your screen.

I have an HP Elitebook for work and it’s a touchscreen laptop that can completely fold over to be a tablet-like device. It’s nice, I’m not a fan of touching the screen, but it comes with a stylus and I can sign or initial digital document (I’m required to approve things). It’s handy to have, but not something I need. I’d be happy if my MacBook had the functionality.

Emotions, feelings, and guilt that are swallowed eventually come out as kidney stones.

It’s a pretty simple task. We received a broken one that just needed a drive gear changed out (only needed one specialty tool). I cleaned and lubed while in there (no specialty tools needed). It was a 2-3 hour process. I could do it again in an hour.

Has anyone had to deal with pests under a deck? I found two dead squirrels under a ground level deck. I have no idea what killed them or why they choose my deck to die under. The smell was atrocious and as long as I have some board up, I’d like to try and solve the problem. Any thoughts? And what should I do, barring removal of the ground level deck?

My wife was recommended the same. And we’ve done quite a bit, but Jesus it’s hard to keep on on this and we are just a couple with a cat (which she’s allergic to, but love is love). It also doesn’t help that we live in an old house and my favorites activities are home improvement projects!
