Their camera system has facial recognition and they use it to instantenaously profile people in transit to and from major transit hubs like train stations and airports. Buddy of mine hasnt had one for 10 years and he's gotten one ticket by a state cop up on uconn Storrs campus. Pretty sure he just paid it and never fixed it. Like many motor vehicle infractions in ct it's just pay to play. Like with tints for example, it's cheaper to pay the ticket than it is to remove the tints. And it's easier to pay the ticket than to take the time off of work to remove it and go to the dmv for proof to get the ticket dropped.

Used to work at home depot in college. The amount of times someone would order a pallet of concrete and show up with a garden trailer or a Tacoma or an suv was insane. Id turn the forklift around and tell them to figure it out. But there was one guy that I will never forget who I made an exception for. Guy had a second gen prius. He was a one man show flooring guy. Tiles, hard wood, you name it. I came out with a full pallet of lvp which is about 2k lbs and see his car. I tell him to rent a truck or come back with something else and he waves me over. This dude had modified the car and outfitted it with overload springs from a quarter ton pickup front end, and modified the trunk lift gate to open 90 degrees. I said hell why not. Dropped the pallet half way in, and pushed it and slid it into his prius. Fit damn near perfectly and with the payload the car sat barely lower than stock. Dude would roll through several times a month and he was the only guy I never turned away. Always makes me laugh and I always wonder if his "truck" is still chugging along.

Wonder if it was the same gooob in the white 340i upbadged as an M3 that did the same thing to a bunch of cars on 291 this morning.

I always use the parking spot. Check with your friends and family members to see if anyone can get you a corporate discount. I believe they take AAA too. When I park there it comes out to $4.60 a day. Their shuttle service is continuous and I've never had an issue with it.

Yup. Take any pw or Collins product and basically every single sub component is manufactured by a mom and pop operation. From washers, to bolts, screws, printed wiring boards, connectors, harnesses, fan blades you name it. It's all made out of house. The only thing the big corps do (Lockheed raytheon, pw, EB) is design work, set requirements, and final assembly. Parts are all procured from all over the country and for commercial products, all over the world.

If the registration is valid there's no reason why not. the dmv requires you use a state issued liscense plate, so technically they're fair game. My mom has her vintage one in the garage with her prior vanity reg number which she never renewed. I'll be registering my car with her old vanity tag next renewal so i can continue to use her vintage ct plate.

They do this for one of mostly two reasons. Both are to keep cars at bay from passing to buy time. Either they need to slow traffic if there is debris in the road and a dot or state cop are pulling it off the highway ahead such as a tire, or something that fell out of a pickup, or second reason they're buying time for a road crew to get on an exit down to start laying cones for roadwork. I usually speed past this if it's a dot foreman or a tilcon truck.

They're designed to be able to remove stripped torx heads. There is also a set that does stripped hex heads. Stanley black and Decker owns the tool brands Mac and Proto, as well as the patent on these two types of sockets. As a result, they sell the hex set for about $115 through Mac and about $70 through proto, however the torx set is $200 and is exclusive to Mac and of course it's the one I need. No other company stateside has a product even remotely similar and I'd rather give the local owner operator the business than ordering through Mac corporate. My current application is a T40 with stripped cams on a pressure plate fastened to my engine. There isn't any clearance next to the bolt head to use the standard $18 bolt extractors, and I'm not chancing an e-z out to make it worse. I've been in this position before, I'm sure this won't be the last is how I've justified it. Frankly, if they work as intended, this set will pay for itself at its first use.
