A licensed dog (wearing its tags) is more likely to make its way back to you if it gets lost. It’s also much easier to confirm rabies status if a dog is registered in town, vs. not - not everyone puts their rabies tag on their dog’s collar. Check your town’s dog licensing ordinance — the late charges are typically 1.5 x the regular license fee, plus a penalty for each pet licensed late. Ferrets also have to be licensed as well.

Wells are a mapped layer in the Vermont GIS database. If you’re lucky, it was mapped and will show up. If this isn’t something you’re familiar with, I can see if I can find a link to get you closer.

This is a great trip! My daughter and I took Dartmouth Coach to Boston to catch Amtrak for a weekend in Portland. Two things would have made it even better: the ability to readily get from South Station bus terminal to North Station, where the northern Amtrak departs, and the train station in Portland proper, vs. outside the city. I believe it used to be? Otherwise, a fun trip that I’d do again.

It’s kind of annoying that the letters aren’t the same height. Noticeable because it’s curved instead of flat.

How do you feel about non-service dogs in stores or restaurants? This seems to be on the increase. Or dogs at outdoor events like parades or flea markets? Not trying to pick a fight, just generally interested in others’ points of view. Personally, I haven’t yet seen a dog who was wildly interested in traipsing through Home Depot, but I may have just picked an off day 😉

White River Junction to Boston. TWO Amtrak trains south and north to NYC daily, instead of one, on the eastern side of the state. Fix the damned customs issue so we can go the entire way into Montreal on the train. And back. Beyond that, just having the ability to travel anywhere with more connection options. More often than not, train routes just don’t talk to each other.
