You do know that you can pretty much put it back to the iOS15 configuration, right?
The added options are great.

I assume for people exactly like myself, like I just described.
Apple promised 10 years out of Lightning, and this is year number 10.

I can see your points, outside of USB-C. I still don’t get the loud screams for this. I have near zero other devices that use USB-C. In fact, all of my other Apple devices still use Lightning. I’d actually be annoyed if this phone had USB-C, as I’d have to go out and purchase different cables for it, which is the opposite of what I hear claimed so many times elsewhere.

Thank you for your service I guess?
For me coming from a 7 Plus, it was an obvious winner. Sometimes it makes more sense and sometimes it doesn’t.

My wife and I are looking forward to using this as a cute digital chalkboard with each other.

I’m thinking it’s because you read about people bitching about it online and have placebo’d it into your own perception.

$50 for a screen protector is egregious homie.
This is all subjective. I like the way my phone looks and feels with both on. Some don’t. Just do what you like.
I have AppleCare and I still want to take care of my stuff as well as possible. AppleCare is for when/if life has other plans. At least for me.

I use my iPhone 7 still at work on WiFi only. Even calls forward over WiFi calling. If you don’t have consistent WiFi access at work it’s a no go, though.
Only thing I can’t do is text non-iMessage users.
