Honda small engines, ATVs, and motor bikes are amazing.

No idea about that one, but I like to plug these guys as much as I can. Made in the USA, high quality. It's my family's daily chef knife and has been flawless. https://virginiaboyskitchens.com/collections/chefs-knives/products/stainless-steel-chef-knife-8-inch-full-tang-wood-handle

Dunno about Deluth, I have Kincos. I've found that under ~20F if I'm spending any serious time out there I need chemical handpacks. I have very warm gloves but they're expensive goretex/down expedition things. For work it's Kincos, and hand heaters if cold. If you find anything else barbed-wire tough that goes down to 0f, let me know!

Made in the USA, Virginia Brothers. Had mine for years, love it. https://virginiaboyskitchens.com/collections/chefs-knives/products/stainless-steel-chef-knife-8-inch-full-tang-wood-handle
I think any quality chef knife is largely about how you use it, care for it, and sharpen it.

lol yeah one winter we got 40 feet season long. but I'd still recommend a honda, they make amazing small engines and quality gear. there are others that aren't bad but it's hard for anyone to say that something is better than a honda blower.

depends on snow load. we have the biggest tracked model you can get as we measure snow in feet, not inches (local joke).

Reply to BIFL Dutch oven: Le Creuset vs Lodge by DesignerAccount
Our non-enamel stuff is Lodge and it's been terrific. Our enameled stuff is Le Creuset and they have likewise been terrific. We have dutch ovens for both.
I try to avoid stuff made in China out of principal, but it doesn't always work out. The Le Creuset dutch ovens we have (two of them) are used at least a couple of times a week and have been flawless for over a decade now. My daughter even scrubbed one with a metal blade to clean it (!) and it didn't hurt the finish.

Hey I checked and it's 100% wool, pretty sure it's this model: https://www.ridgemerino.com/collections/merino-wool-hoodies-mens/products/mens-hyde-merino-wool-hoodie-full-zip?variant=29633314881645
They may have made some changes here and there but it looks dead-on to the one that I have. It's "medium" weight, athletic but not stupid skin tight fit.

Shit you know I'm not positive but it feels like pure wool. A couple of places the stitching has opened a bit but it never spread and isn't noticeable unless you're really looking.
BallsOutKrunked t1_ixmhlty wrote
I'll just plug ridge in general. I live close to their store and one of their hoodies is going on 6 years with me at this point. I have some of their base layers with about the same mileage.

Dryclean model, it's the Yosemite blanket. I sleep with that on top and a fleece underneath it, the fleece is the one that gets washed more often. I think in those ~7 years we got the Pendelton drycleaned twice?

Love my pendelton. Hoping BIFL, it's been ~7 years now pretty much ~300 days a year, still looks great.

I like Crocs because they put up with shocking amounts of abuse and can handle pretty decent amounts of walking. Being able to clean them with a garden hose and just toss them in the back of the pickup is awesome.

Not arguing with you, but OP is looking for studies and specifically states he's not looking for "online recommendations". I have my own youtube channel where I explain a few things here and there but I'm certainly not a double blind peer reviewed data point.

I think it depends on what you mean by "average". I intentionally compared it to Amazon chinesium. If you want to compare it to Gear Wrench then sure, snapon is a smidgen better but much pricier.

No, there are no studies to tell you that snapon tools will be better than the cheapest garbage you can get on amazon. Feel free to roll those dice as you see fit.
