I'm just saying it wasn't his 'cause', that domino was pushed over by Cap.

I would say more Cap not signing did that.

Oh, I know and agree with you.

I just don't think you can put the breaking up of the team on Tony.

Are you putting that on Tony and not Cap?

Tony was taking responsibility for his past mistakes and following the law. As well as throughout the film trying to compromise with Cap to keep the team together. Cap is the one who choose to break the Accords ultimately breaking up the Avengers. Cap made up his mind on what the right thing to do was(a decision that was wrong-Zemo was never going to unleash more Winter Soldiers).

My only push back of your opinion is recency bias. Many times in the moment the new thing seems fresh in our mind it gives use a false sense.

I'm in no way calling Puss in Boots 2 bad, it was very good. But lets give it a year or two and give a little perspective on it before calling it the best in the franchise. It's possible it is but let time tell.

This clip from Civil War establishs the Averagers as a private no military group. Literally Ross uses the world vigilantes and said "for the past 4 years you have operated with unlimited power and no supervision. That's an arrangement the governments of the world can no longer tolerate." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpXcU6DvRVA&t=98s That Ross part is around the 2:25 mark.

The Avengers have no connection the government or US military.

You don't need to be a fan boy to understand Fight Club wasn't made for teenagers. The reason teens like it is because most miss the as OP said the "staggeringly obvious" satire of the film.
