Zenni frames have held up to daily abuse hunting, mountain biking, snowboarding, atv riding, homesteading and whatever else I throw at them. I’m finally replacing my glasses from several years ago only because I scratched the heck out of the lens cleaning with my shirt. I actually ordered the same exact frames I had before and was surprised they still had them. I get the transition lenses so these are my everyday sun glasses too. I even pay $3 to get my custom jay ban logo on them.

I did the same exact thing! I bought the cheaper hiking boots and was a little disappointed when I saw they weren’t Italian made. Apparently these high end boot companies are trying to compete with all the cheap boots out there with more affordable options. Unfortunately they have to cut cost so cheaper manufacturing. My Italian made scarpas are indestructible and water proof after years of abuse though.

I think you are bit confused on how capitalism works. Every quarter a corporation must make more profits than the last quarter. Eventually a company will come to a point where they plateau and don’t make as much profit as the quarter before. They must make a decision at this point. Either improve the product or get cheaper labor to improve profits. Unfortunately when they decide to have manufacturing done in China they are choosing cheap forced labor instead of product development to increase the profit margins.

Only the heritage line is made in the us and super pricey. They built the brand for being made in the us. When I bought my boots I was under the impression they were made in the us. I was disappointed after seeing made in China on the label. Overpriced and they didn’t last very long.
