I don’t normally listen to Lil Yatchy like that but this album was dope. A great mix of Psychedelic Rock, R&B, and Jazz. The Black Seminole was definitely a call back to Pink Floyd’s style and Drive Me Crazy had similar smooth soul vibes to Rock With You by Michael Jackson. Definitely a great 2023 release.

I would argue Michael Jackson or maybe even Prince. MJ in the 60s, 70s, and 80s was nearly untouchable vocally. George Michael is close though and could definitely be argued as such.

Accused by a few girls abusing them and some of his lyrics were seen as weird and received some backlash, with one lyric saying “I might be tempted to break the law around here” in one of his more sexual songs.

If you count the material with his brothers Michael Jackson has a huge catalogue. You also have Prince, Frank Zappa, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, among others.

I can see why you say that, but I would argue The Jacksons even more. Have you heard the albums Destiny and Triumph, some of the best work he ever did in the similar vein of Off the Wall.
